The Brisbane District Bowls Association (BDBA) wanted to reward those persons selected to play for the district with a token of its appreciation, that token being a BDBA cap with a unique number embroidered on it (similar to what is done in some other sports).
The numbering of players has been done alphabetically by surname in the year that they first represented the district. The lack of records made this task difficult. Some gaps appear in the numbering to allow for players to come forward and provide more accurate details. These players will be issued with a more appropriate number, or a new number for those that were completely missed. No renumbering will occur of the other players in the list.
For the years 1988 to 2016 (both years included), players will be responsible for purchasing a BDBA cap and having their assigned number embroidered on it. A photo of the cap showing the location of the number may be found in either of the documents attached to this page.
It is important for those players that intend to arrange for their own embroidery that the location and style of the number is the same on all caps. The details required for the stitching are;
- height of the number is 2 cm,
- the code of the gold thread is 1188.
